Candle Care & Burning Tips
Get the best performance from your candle while staying safe and extending its life. Follow these simple tips:
- First Burn Matters: Allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the jar during the first burn (this usually takes 2–4 hours).
This prevents tunnelling and helps your candle burn evenly throughout its life. - Trim the Wick: Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch (6 mm).
A trimmed wick prevents excessive smoke, reduces soot, and helps maintain a steady flame. - Don’t Overburn: Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
Longer burns can cause the jar to overheat or reduce the overall lifespan of the candle. - Burn in a Safe Location: Keep your candle on a heat-resistant, stable surface and away from drafts, vents, and flammable materials.
This ensures an even burn and helps prevent accidents. - Never Leave Unattended: Always keep an eye on a lit candle.
Do not leave it burning unattended or near children and pets. - Clean the Jar: If you notice soot or residue building up on the glass, allow the candle to cool completely, then gently wipe it clean with a dry cloth.
- End of Life & Reuse: When about 1/2 inch of wax remains, it’s time to retire the candle for safety reasons.
Clean out the jar and reuse it for storage, decor...or stay tuned for our upcoming refill options!
